I love this product
Review by Mariam on 9 Apr 2020 review stating I love this product
I love this product. It gives my hair the volume and very good texture.
I don't like how it smells. But it's not too bad. It's just my personal preference.

DevaCurl ruined my hair.
Review by Luana S. on 27 Mar 2020 review stating DevaCurl ruined my hair.
I started using DevaCurl products regularly in 2017. At first, I had wonderful results. In October/November of 2019, I began to experience hair loss during showering, extreme itchiness, scalp sores, and inexplicable knotting all over my hair, especially at the nape of my neck, like I had never had before. It became painful to detangle my hair and my hair felt and looked dry/damaged even when fully soaked. Even on wash days my hair was frizzy and limp, NOTHING could made my hair soft, springy, and voluminous like it was before. I noticed thinning near my hairline, and it sometimes even caused me to cry to detangle my hair, no matter how gently I did it most of the clumped hair would break off.

Now I know that the hair loss, thinning, scalp sores and itchiness, hair knotting and breakage, and complete damage to my hair which I spend thousands of dollars to have cut and cared for professionally by a curl specialist was caused by the DevaCurl products that I also spent a huge amount of money on. I, like many others, only made this realization after mostly blaming myself and thinking there was something wrong with me MEDICALLY which led to having blood tests done for some type of explanation, until I finally discovered the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of women who have had their hair destroyed by DevaCurl.

Response from DevaCurl
Hi, as with any cosmetic or personal care product, if you have a negative experience (such as itchy scalp) that you think may be related to use of DevaCurl products, you should immediately stop using the product. If you experience hair loss, you should contact your healthcare provider or dermatologist. You can learn more about the safety of our products at
