Alistair is a wonderful and very talented stylist. I have been coming to him for several years and have never been disappointed. He is professional and kind and always listens to what I want. I have had several Deva cuts in NYC and would choose Alistair over those stylists every time. Can't say enough good things about him!

I’ve had Deva cuts and used the products for over 10 years. Allister, hands down, is the best. His Deva haircuts are great and my hair is much easier to manage now. I get stopped all the time and asked if my hair is natural or who curls it. Allister listens and takes his craft seriously.

I booked my service and paid over $200, and Alastair only clipped 4 strands of my hair. One of the other stylists had brought in a cherry pie for some event and all he talked about was the pie. He kept looking at it and asking the other stylists about it and saying how good it smelled. He said he had to finish my hair really quick before the pie got cold! He ended up cutting 4 or 5 strands of my hair and then left me in the care of another stylist to gel and style me quickly (the style wasn’t even good). I could see him over there eating the pie and laughing while I was stuck over there with my $200 garbage haircut.

I came to Juel Salon after reading all these magical reviews convinced they would be able to fix my frizzy, hard to define 2b/2c wavy curls. I should have known that there was something amiss when I realized Alastair was double booked during our appointment. He constantly was going back and forth between me and other clients and the only part of the appointment he really did was the cut. For washing and styled I was bounced around between 3 different stylists; not the certified one I had booked an appointment with and was paying an exorbitant amount of money for. I was charged an extra $30 for a 5 minute melt into moisture mask application. When they styled my hair, they scrunched for maybe 30 seconds at the most and then left me under a dryer for almost an hour. My definition was nonexistent and my hair looked puffy and loose like I had tried to brush through my curls instead of defin them. It was such a mess I cried in frustration when I got home (and completely redid my own hair.) Absolutely not worth the $175 charge. I came in asking for definition and they gave me the exact opposite and literally made my hair look worse than when I did it on my own.
