I had been struggling to find someone who could cut my curly hair so it would be happy and not blah. In looking for a curly hair pro I stumbled upon deva cuts. I wasn't keen on it being a dry cut (ala Super Cuts I thought), but I was so frustrated by my hair. I like curls, and when my hair is cut well it looks good (especially if the humidity is at some perfect number!) - I get lots of stangers giving compliments. It's been a long time since someone stopped me to compliment me on my hair. So I searched out a DevaCut expert near me from the DevaCurl website and found Shiva. Prayers answered! Shiva is all around talented - She root colored, cut and highlighted my curls, bringing out bounce and curl, which has been consistently there since she applied her talents. No styling needed - I just wash and go. Not one blah day, and it's been over a week now, and a couple days really dry weather-wise- yet the curls still came! The deva dry cut WORKS! and I didn't end up with cut hair everywhere and back itches-there was no cut hair on me afterwards. Shiva was also very informative on how to best handle my hair, and why earlier cut techniques would never work on my hair. There was no pressure to buy product. In short, I have found a place, a person, and a cut which respects and honors my curls. For that, Shiva will be my go to for now on!

Shiva's "vision" of my hair did not work for me. Though nice enough, she ended up cutting off most of my curls, and frankly gave me an "old lady" haircut with some curls on the top and nothing stylish for the rest of my hair. Just because I have grey hair doesn't mean I want to look like an old lady! I thought that it would grow cuter over a week or two, but it's now been 3 weeks and I haven't had a good hair day yet. Once again need to find a new stylist!
