I had an awesome cut and color with Sara today. She spent time talking with me about my hair, my problems, and my goals. I appreciated that she didn’t cut more length than I asked (happens so often!) and that she taught me the steps she was taking along the way. My hair feels soft and is shiny without looking wet. Thanks, Sara!

Tonight I found the holy grail of curly haired girls- someone who actually knows how to cut my hair!!! I’ve never been so happy with a haircut in my life! Thank you Sarah Brown at Salon 554 for getting certified through Deva Curls, this is a game changer!

As a mixed girl, I am so glad I found this place! I got the devacut plus highlights. Here is an album of my before/after: I think those photos speak for themselves. Sarah was my stylist. She was talkative (in a good way!), friendly, and so very warm. I had a smile on my face the whole time. A couple of other stylists worked with me as well, and they were also lovely. Each of them gave me tips and tricks to recreate the look at home. They walked me through each of the products they were using, how they were being applied, and in what order. I really feel like a I can keep this look going! That is until it grows out again, haha. It took about 3 hours, which is what I expected. I will never get a $20 haircut at Great Clips ever again. This was worth every penny. Expect to drop some money, especially if you decide to buy the Deva products they recommend in addition to highlights. It's worth it though, trust me! I'll definitely be returning in 6 months for another cut.

Let me start by saying I have a deep distrust of stylists. I have curly, dry, easily damaged hair. Ive spent hundreds on my hair and left feeling like I could do a better job myself. Ive left Salons and cried stupid tears over the waste. So for years, I just took care of my own hair... If I screwed it up, I was only out a few bucks. But I wanted a somewhat drastic change. Ive never had anything but long hair. But its shapeless and finicky and dry at the bottom. I got several recomendations from curly haired ladies in the area to try Salon 554, specifically Sara Brown. First of all, she listened and seemed like a smart cookie. Educated on curly hair. My hair was cut dry and she took the time to teach me some styling techniques. Nothing like any other salon experience I have had. My hair is legit bouncing shirley temple curls. Springy, frizz free, bouncy. My husband said my new hair made me look younger! (Def keeping the look!) The color was also fantastic. She didn't fry my sensitive hair. It was a bit spendy but since I havent had anyone touch my hair in 2+ years, and she did a million things to it, I felt it was worth it. Definitely highly recommend!
