After over 2 decades of straightening my hair I decided it was time to transition to my natural hair and embrace my curls. I started the curly girl method using Devacurl products 5 weeks ago and after an entire month of "forcing" my curls with excessive amount of products and different techniques, I decided it was time to get a fresh start with a Devacut. I went to Liberty Salon for the first time on 09/30 and as soon as I came into the salon they all made me feel so welcome. I went to get my first ever Devacut and I was excited but yet nervous about the haircut. Mayra put me at ease straight away, asking relevant questions at the start and offering useful advice throughout the appointment. She explained the entire process.She was a great listener and gave me so many tips and great advises to care for my curly hair. I totally related to her personal hair story and her testimony with her personal Devacuts. She has a lovely, warm personality along with a great talent.Very pleased with my Devacut, my curls are looking way better than before and I can style them better. I've had my hair butchered by many hair stylist. The hair cut I received in early August 2018 was a complete disaster. It had the weirdest shape and was way too short. I decided to dry someone from the DevaCurl website and I'm so happy I did. First of all, when I walked in to the salon, it was nice to see that Mayra had curly hair. Why? Because she would understand what I was trying to explain without looking at me with a blank "deer stuck in the headlights" look. She did an amazing job of shaping my hair and teaching me how to get the dry wavy section of my hair to pop with beautiful curls. Her service is the best. I walked away with a great cut and she taught me how to properly use the DevaCurl products I had at home. Yes, I paid more, but it was totally worth every penny.
