It's been almost a year since this cut and I still find myself so upset over it that I decided to leave a review. I feel bad leaving a negative review but really, my hair still isn't quite right. First off, it was cut WAY shorter than I asked for, like by 4 inches. I'm blind as a bat without my glasses, and in hindsight I now know to never get a haircut without wearing my contacts, because I had to remove my glasses for the cut, of course. I didn't realize HOW short it was until I felt a breeze on my entire neck - my hair was supposed to be shoulder length. Being someone not afraid of change I just thought "well, not what I asked for but I'll roll with it." When my cut was done and I was in the chair waiting on color, I asked the colorist if she thought my hair looked uneven. I could see several curls hanging a good inch or more below the level of the rest of the cut. And they were random strays, not at all intentional. She sounded very uncomfortable talking to me about it so she called over the person who cut my hair to talk to me. She wasn't reassuring but said she'd work on it after my color. After the color was done (Lisa did my color and was fabulous) and I'd had a good while with my glasses on to really study my hair in the mirror, I was utterly devastated and couldn't stand to be there any longer than necessary. I practically ran out the door as soon as my color was done and I'd paid. I haven't had a cut since, I'm so scared to try a new place (this was my first cut since moving across the country away from my trusted Deva salon). I had to carry scissors in my purse for weeks to trim the random wonky pieces that would pop up as my hair fully dried throughout the day. I've struggled with cuts all my life until I found Deva several years ago and still this tops the worst cuts I've ever had even as a child and teen. At least then my cut was even, even if they did torment my curls in the process. Never again.
