My appointment at Le Petit Salon Curl Concept was nothing pleasant. I arrived at their door with a friend of mine and was told she wasn’t able to come in. I explained to the two woman that I am autistic and was a little nervous being here for the first time and wanted a familiar face in their with me and I asked if there was any exceptions, in which they denied. They stated rudely that people with disabilities, such as myself, and even children couldn’t have anyone with them in there. Despite having two waiting rooms, nor me or my friend argued with them, trying to avoid any issues. and for the whole hour and half I was there my friend sat in the cold and waited for me. Once sat down I was degraded by the stylist. Claiming my length was not what I stated and I explained to her I consulted with people who also have similar hair to mine to make sure it was the right length, but she argued with me and continued to tell me I was wrong. While she was doing my hair, with me already being nervous, she started to complain about how long my hair was and began huffing and puffing about it. While paying for a senior stylist, I expected a quality experience and hair cut. She also continued to say it was difficult and she didn’t think she could make my curly hair even. It was embarrassing and degrading listening to her complain about my hair in front of other customers. At the end of the session I was upset with the out come. I then left a review on the receipt and got an email back claiming the only reason I was upset was because they ‘denied my girlfriend entrance’ as they stated. I explained that was nothing to do with the situation and I wanted to talk about some sort of refund and wasn’t emailed back. I traveled a state away for a transformation for my hair and was treated with nothing but disrespect. I have never had a group of people be so rude and distasteful. Especially at only 18 with autism, I feel very taken advantage of. Unless you want to get your hair poorly done, with poorly educated people, in a environment which you feel unsafe and uncomfortable in, I would suggest going elsewhere.
