I don't trust many people to take several inches off my hair, taking me from very long hair to a much shorter style, just past my shoulders. However, Justine did an AMAZING job and I absolutely love my new cut! My hair feels so healthy and happy and my curls are popping. Worth the 1.5 hour drive for a fantastic cut, a stylist I can trust, and a great value!!

Justine was very sweet! I’ve been to various hairstylist and have never left happy; however, after visiting Justine my curls are looking better than ever. I will definitely be recommending her to my friends and family.
Sloppy, uneven, and not the Deva technique I've ever seen

I do not know what happened, but I had an awful experience with Justine. After seeing her reviews on DevaCurl, I checked her out on Instagram and was impressed with the photos posted. My result and experience was nothing like what she posts or discusses. I've been getting Deva cuts for just about 10 years and have never experienced the sloppiness and breaking of Curly Girl methodology. First, I was in and out within 35 minutes. That sounds good in some ways, but any Deva cut I've ever had has taken much longer and any other stylist has taken time to get to know my hair, make sure the cut was even, and has checked to make sure what they were doing was what I was expecting. When she cut my hair, she went very fast and used the slicing technique that I've had done in Ouidad cuts. She did this all over my head. Usually, a stylist will check to make sure that bottom length is somewhat even and that there is some sort of coherence with the cut. Before I knew it, I was in the hair washing chair and she did not even wash my whole head. She wet my head, put shampoo on my hair, rubbed the top and sides just a little, then put in a rinse haphazardly, and told me to go back to the chair. The hair from the previous client was still on the floor and now on my shoes and pant legs. She then put some kind of product on my head and put me under a hair dryer. During any other Deva cut I've had over the last 10 years, the stylist took time to understand the products I needed and explained what they were using. She did none of this. Then, she disappeared for a few minutes, came back, took the dryer hood off my hair, shook out my hair by rubbing my scalp (I mean rough and it jerked my head) at the roots (big Curly girl no-no), scrunched the ends a little, shook out my hair, again, and then told me her cuts are $60. I looked in the mirror and was a bit taken back at how disheveled, frizzy, and uneven my hair looked. I asked her if she was finished and she said yes. I pointed out that it looked uneven and there were much longer clusters of hair that randomly stuck out all over my head. She said that would even out when I washed it on my own. I was stunned and trusted her because I've usually always had a great experience with Deva cuts. I paid and left, having to walk through the carpet of hair cuttings still left on the floor. Let me tell you, nothing evened out like she said. The hair on the right side of my head is THREE inches longer than my left when its DRY. THREE inches. How could this not be noticed or fixed? It was this way at the salon when I pointed it out. There are also random pieces of hair that are much, much longer than the surrounding hair. Again, this did not even out like she said it would. I do not know if she was having an especially bad day, was under some kind of influence, or what was going on, but this was a far cry from professional or skilled service. I have never had such a sloppy haircut or messy, unprofessional service. I have never seen the techniques she used done by any other Deva certified stylist and watched her break a number of the Curly Girl methodologies. I don't know how she's able to get nice pictures for Instagram, but the experience I had with her could not be more opposite. I would vote her worst hair stylist I have ever had. You should not be cutting anyone's hair.
