I called the salon at 9am for a deva cut and she made me an appointment for 11:30am that day. I asked them what to do with my hair and she said to have it clean and dry, no gel. I hurried to take a shower in hopes that it would be dry in time. It was damp when I got there and Jessie said it was wet. She blow dried it with a claw which made it pretty straight- I have 2b curls with gel. She said the deva cut probably wasn’t for me but I wanted to try the devacurl products so I asked if we could still do it and she said yes. I had to remind her I didn’t want layers and she said oh yeah and started cutting more off after she had taken my cover off and it got all over me and down my shirt. During the washing I had to tell her I needed gel for my hair to be curlier. After the scrunching with gel she put me under a dryer helmet for 30 minutes. When she took me out she said “Well it’s not frizzy.” Which I had told her was one of my main concerns. It was pretty straight again from the blow drying. I had to tell her I had to scrunch out the crunch so I did that. Not what I was expecting but oh well. When I got home I realized the cut is totally uneven. I was supposed to have a slant but it goes from short to longer immediately. It looks awful. I tried washing and styling my normal way to make sure it wasn’t just the way it was falling. Nope. Whether it’s cut straight or curly it shouldn’t look like this. I feel bad writing this review but I’m pretty upset I spent $105 (including tip) and two hours plus driving when I have a 4 month old and 3 year old at home for this terrible cut. I’m going to my regular stylist ASAP to get it fixed.
