DevaCut

I went to Andrea at J Gregory Salon, who is a a level 2 certified Deva stylist. She was very sweet, but her knowledge of curly hair - how to care for it, how to style it, and how to cut (to some extent) - appeared to be severely lacking. She failed to put adequate/any layers throughout, so my hair ended up looking like a triangle. It was flat on top and extremely heavy and poofy at the bottom. She told me not to use a lot of product, which is completely opposite of what I’ve known for curly hair my entire life. The back ended up looking like a V shape instead of the U shape she stated she was going to cut. Overall, I was very unhappy with the cut I got and ended up going to another salon with a Deva Inspired (level 1) stylist who listened to me, acknowledged my experience with my own hair, and gave me layers throughout so it was much more balanced and better shaped. I would not recommend Andrea at J Gregory Salon.

Service Received: DevaCut, Pintura Highlighting, DevaCurl Transformation

I went to Andrea and she cut a few curls dry and then wet my hair, combed it with a fine toothed comb and cut it. she also used foil on my highlights which ended up almost non-existent. my partial highlights ended up being $150, not including tip. i didn’t feel comfortable enough to stop her when she wet/combed/foiled. She was a super sweet person but definitely didn’t do a true DevaCut. it was a disappointing serevive. i won’t be going back to that salon.
