Stars for hospitality! This modest salon is brimming with congeniality! Given the excellent online reviews for Chanel's Hair Boutique and the exceptional website, I arrived eagerly anticipating a spectacular haircut. I was reassured, while sitting in the chair, by the enthusiasm of the clients at the boutique. However, it was immediately apparent that this incredibly kind woman was not what I'd hoped. I waited… against my instincts, hoping it would improve; trying to give benefit of the doubt. But, in the end, the cut was mediocre at best. After taking quite sometime to shape my hair by wistfully cutting away one-handedly at seemingly random areas, my hair was washed and I was under a dryer. More wistful snipping, a bit of diffusing followed and then, the finale. It occurred to me during these final stages that the devacurl products are really what entice people. More gel, cream, and moisturizer was spread across my hair, well beyond follicle saturation, than I have perhaps had in the last month total. My curls were crunchy, but mostly defined. I paid the $185 in full, after all, the service had been technically been rendered by the book. I even threw in a tip for great hospitality. But, hospitality can only compensate so much for deficiencies in skill. This was a $35 haircut at best; it didn’t even last the whole day. This was my first deva cut. I've heard rave reviews and, while I'm thoroughly happy with my actual stylist, I was curious to give it a try. I left Chanel's with a greater appreciation and deeper loyalty for my routine stylist. She doesn't charge ridiculous prices because she's got paper printed certificates hanging around her shop; Claudia has true talent and I'm now, more than ever, impressed by what great work she's done for a fraction of the price. She earns every high dollar tip (yes, I'm a BIG tipper for good work) and takes pride in her profession and skill. Any good stylist should be able to speak eloquently about their skill. I now believe that the rave reviews for devacuts must come from people who've struggled to understand how to work with their curly hair or have spent years treating it badly.

I got my hair cut today by Alexis and I absolutely love everything about it! She really listened to what I wanted and it turned out better than I could imagine! The atmosphere at the salon is so warm and welcoming and the customer service was excellent. I am from LA and had a hard time finding someone who does deva cuts, but I am so happy to say I found this place. I will definitely be coming back! :)

I couldn’t wait to write my review! I got my hair for about 30 minutes ago and I loved it, I feel like a new gorgeous woman. Alexis was very nice and attentive and professional. Such a cute and stylish place with a fun friendly vibe. My hair cut looks great perfectly suited with my face shape and my style and best of all I DONT HAVE FRIZZ!! My curls are perfectly defined, I LOVE MY HAIR NOW. Definitely worth the money. I will definitely go back and get my hair done with Alexis, this will be the beginning of a long hair relationship.
