I've been on a curly girl journey for about a year. I've always blown out my hair to take out the curls using a round brush. My hair had grayed and the texture had changed and blowing it straight has become a waste of time. Flat irons make my hair look like hay! So, I've bought a lot of products for curly hair at the store to try to combat frizz issues. I've been to a few stylists to help and none of them really knew, i mean really knew, about curly hair and how to cut, apply products, and style. Thankfully, I discovered devacurl products. These are amazing for curly hair. Do. I googled too find a curly hair specialist in my area and janasia was the only one listed. I gave her a call and made an appt. Im so, so glad i did. She helped me with a hair style (i basically didn't have one having let my hair grow down my back because i couldn't find anyone that could give me a good cut). Taught me how to apply the products and styled my hair. I have to say, my hair is beautiful. I've gotten compliments from people i don't even know. Janasia is really nice and thorough. If you have curly hair. Janasia is the expert for you! Thank you, janasia. I love my hair again!

If I could give my experience a zero, then I would. My appointment lasted 4.5 hours (yes, that’s no exaggeration) and I left with at least 3 years worth of my natural hair gone (that’s not an exaggeration either). I asked for a simple trim and she cut my hair and said, “I didn’t think that I was cutting that much.“ No apology, nothing. I left the shop looking absolutely horrible and feeling worse because I trusted her to know what she was doing. It got even worse when I got home and saw how much of my hair had actually she cut. I was heartbroken because I’ve been natural for 5 years. Anyone who has been natural for that long knows how much it takes to maintain and grow your hair. She just cut it off and then acted like she didn’t know how much she cut. In my opinion, the customer service was horrible. Since she had already started the service, I was stuck and couldn’t leave. Also, I do not think that she listened to me or to my request. I told her that I wanted a trim and that I wear my hair in a bun most of the time. Why then would you cut my hair so short that I can no longer get a bun? I asked for and booked a trim. I did not ask her to cut off all of my hair to nearly big chop length. I cannot believe how I was treated and how much of my hair she cut. Had I seen even one negative review when I was reading her reviews, then I would have avoided using this stylist. Well. Here it is.

If i could give this person zero stars, I would. My sister just left the salon and now she is very upset because not only did this person have her waiting for over 4.5 hours just to dye and trim her hair--she cut off the length. Janasia's reason was that "she didn't think she cut off that much". It took my sister 5 years to grow her hair and now her hair wet is the length it was this morning dry before she went to the appointment. My sister wears her hair in a bun (which she told the stylist) and now she cannot even get it into a bun. In my opinion, she did not listen to her client and she did not read the appointment that said, trim. In my opinion, if you want to start your hair journey all over again, then use this stylist. If not, then avoid her.
