I’ve been getting my Devacuts at Lorindas for about a year now. Every other salon has butchered my hair, but when I come to Lorindas they take great care of me. I’ve had my hair cut by a couple different stylists when my main one is booked up and I’ve been more than pleased every time. Thank you, Lorindas!

If you think you are going to get a cut as described on this site or in Lorainne Massey's book, guess again. You will pay an extra $30 for a regular cut. The atmosphere in the salon is grim, dysfunctional, unwelcoming. Everyone is in walled up in their own misery, not caring and not communicating. This is something that comes from the top, down. Employees must come in with goodwill but have it crushed out of them. No one wanted to be there and it rubbed off on me. Instead of leaving with a spring in my step and feeling a bit more beautiful, I was cranked out by a machine of dead-end people who took no interest in me beyond my wallet. Beauty and style are all about the importance of what you have to offer, your talent and skills, and your ability to connect with the expectations of your client, to educate your client and work with their ideas, to inspire, to impart flair and grace. Lorinda's has none of this. Also, the lighting is dismal, makes you look terrible. The noise level and decor are ghastly. Not a pampering experience in anything but the high prices. I have been a fan of Lorraine Massey for years but no longer because she leads people to believe that her referrals are to people who perform DevaCuts. When I complained to the company they said, well, we just share our philosophy and hope they use it. This is not a certified training, not even close. It is just advertising BS. My hair was cut blunt in layers just like they do at the strip mall chain store barber/salon shops. The experience was shabby and I felt truly ripped off for having fallen into the trap of believing the salon and DevaCurl.
