Stylists at this salon
Great for curly hair (3A/3B)
I have had great experiences with two of the stylists at Sam & Bill's. My first 2 cuts were with Stephanie B and I was very impressed with the time she took to cut my hair dry and then explain what products she was using. Several months later (I love that I don't need to go every 6-8 weeks for a trim anymore), I had my hair cut by Sandy B. She spent a good 1.5 hours on my hair, cutting it slowly and then letting me play with it a bit to see how it felt. Neither of them used too much product in my hair and at no point did I feel like they were just trying to sell me stuff. I told them what I currently used and they worked with that and made some suggestions. I love the way my hair looks and I will definitely be back.
Not a curl specialist
I recently relocated to North Carolina and found this salon here in the website. I have had Deva Cut and been a Deva customer for 8 years now. The place is far to offer a Deva experience. They don’t have any clue how to style a curly hair and the Deva cut was not good as well. I asked for a deep conditioning treatment and all they did was applying the Heaven in hair without applying any tecnique to actived the curls and put me under a dryer. After that I she washed the excess of the heaven in hair and put a lot of Arc angel to style without using the Deva clips. I have never seen my hair with so much frizz in years. I challenge the professional on how the process should be done and her answer was “We are not curly hair specialists, we don’t have time to do the process like Devachan.” I left very disappointed and washed my hair as soon as I arrived home to see If the problem was just the styling. Now I will have to wait my hair to grow to fix cut.
Great DevaCut on long, thick, 3a curls
I absolutely love having Sandy cut my hair. Like most girls with curly hair, especially as long and thick as mine, I was a little nervous the first time, but Sandy was incredible. She completely transformed my curls, and since then, I’ve only had Sandy cut my hair. She always helps me achieve the perfect look.
Most Fabulous DevaCut in Raleigh!
Sandy works wonders on my thick, coarse, 3a hair every time I see her. She is excellent at thinning, shaping, and adding life back to your curls. She gives a real DevaCut by cutting your hair dry and using DevaCurl products. I always love the results! The other employees are so delightful and helpful when interacting with customers, and the atmosphere at Sam and Bill's is cozy and fun. I used to hate getting haircuts, but now I look forward to seeing Sandy and the rest of the Sam and Bill's crew!
Happy with DevaCut
Stephanie B gave me a DevaCut and I love it--no more frizz! My mostly wavy hair (with some curl on the ends) now looks stylish and has pizazz! Stephanie gives a great DevaCut, and shows you how to do the routine and the clipping. I couldn't be happier!
Love my curls
Best thing to happen to my curly hair. I have so much bounce and curl. Thank you Sam and Bills for getting my curly hair right. Special thanks to Sandy.
Could've Been Better
I called and asked if the stylist knew how to cut a certain type of hair texture and she told me that she was confident she could cut my hair. I went in completely prepared with pictures of exactly what I wanted, went in with my hair freshly washed with no product and I told her repeatedly that I wanted all the damaged hair off, that I wanted healthy hair more than anything. I knew I had a lot so I was expecting a lot of to be cut. She basically only trimmed my hair and put my hair in the bowl and slapped a literal quarter sized amount of product in my hair, which is basically nothing for my very thick hair . She then "detangled" it, which basically consisted of her only combing through the front part of my hair. After my hair was dried, I told her I wanted more cut off but she basically said no because my hair would look like an "afro" and it won't have that "nicer curl".. Well clearly it wouldn't look like an afro if the product was put in there properly and if my hair was detangled properly. I was expecting so much more from the cut, I walked out of there looking like a hot mess with a nest on my head. The stylist was really nice and easy to talk to though, I'll give her that. However, the haircut wasn't worth $100 dollars in my opinion. I ended up having to go to Great Clips and few days later so that they could fix my hair and get ALL the damage out and my hair turned out so much better there for a whole lot less. Ladies with anything other than smooth textured hair, I would advise that you go elsewhere.
Stephanie B gave me my first Devacut and she did an amazing job. I have never been this happy with my curls. The combination of these products, her skills and this cut is a game changer! It was simple to book the appointment and the staff members were all friendly. I went in so unhappy with my dry frizzy curls and had no idea what I wanted her to do but she guided me in the right direction. Go see Stephanie....you won't be sorry!
I had a fantastic DevaCut with Stephanie to remove some weight and uneven ends in my hair after a year of growth. It brought my hair back to life! This a TRUE DevaCut, where it is cut dry, then washed/dried with Deva products and a DevaFuser, and then finished up again once dry. They are very responsive. I called to book an appointment and had one the following week. I haven't had any luck booking DevaCuts with other salons in the area; they either had a very long (MONTHS) wait or were simply unresponsive.
