Service Received: DevaCut

Price: $51-$75

I don’t think Lana is experienced enough in Deva cuts. She cut my hair wet. Took way too much off. When I told her I was dissatisfied, she claimed that I did t have curls, but waves. Not true. I’ve been natural for 8 years, and am a 3c, no damage. Left looking tragic and so upset, I cried in my car. I would not recommend this salon.

Service Received: DevaCut, DevaCurl Transformation

I was looking for a Deva Curl cut closer by. A visit to the Deva Curl website led me to Lana at Cultivate Salon just 2.5 miles away. I decided to get the Deva Curl Evaluation and Cut again. Lana customized the process to my hair. My waves are back. My cut is now 6 weeks old and still very easy to manage......a first for me! Lana showed me that I don’t have to be wedded to Deva Curl Shampoo and taught me which Deva Curl products to buy. Better still, Tuesday and Wednesday are “Senior Daly’s”. I got 20% off. No more driving to St Louis County for me,!

False advertising

Pleasant atmosphere but I won\'t be returning for the following reasons:

I went in expecting a deva cut, shampoo, and deep condition as advertised and booked.

1. She combs my hair while it\'s dry- a no no for curly hair as far as I know. Anywhere else I\'ve been does not do that. She gave a reason but still ends up coming from the middle, not the bottom.
2. When I went to the shampoo station she (Lana) tells me she won\'t be using the Deva Curl products.
3. Doesn\'t do a deva cut- because she combed out my curl pattern

I left looking worse then when I came in, went home, shampooed my hair and can clearly see a tight cut well defined curl pattern.

Love Lana!

I had horribly heat-damaged hair. I\'d stopped straightening it for several months but knew I would need to also trim it to restore it back to it\'s health. Straightening it (as is standard for a trim for a curly/natural-haired woman) seemed counter-intuitive, so I started looking for curly cuts. I first came across Ouidad, which wasn\'t an option in my area, but that led me to DevaCurl and cuts. I used the search feature and found Lana\'s salon, which I had seen several times from its inception. I took a chance and loved it from the beginning. Lana requires a consultation for any new client (regardless of which stylist they are seeing) which includes asking about hair history, goals, and any health issues related to hair health, treatments, and care. She was very attentive and ignored me when I told her to just cut it off (I\'ve never had short hair, as she\'d learned from the consultation). Lana recognized that I was frustrated but not committed to short hair. She talked me through a plan
and 18 months later, my curls were back! Five years later, I\'m still seeing Lana and have referred several people to her (I keep her cards on me because I get stopped often by people asking me about my curls). Even after all this time, Lana still checks in with me about what I\'m doing with my hair, occasionally making recommendations on products or applications, and continues to provide excellent service. If you\'re looking for a great Devacut, an excellent haircare professional, and relatively quiet (music plays in the salon-I enjoy it) salon experience, see Lana and make Cultivate your home!
