Jessica did my hair and it was my first diva cut. I have been cutting my own hair forever but wanted layers, bangs and more volume!! I didn’t trust myself to do layers. So I came here and was extremely disappointed. First of she DID NOT cut off curl by curl.i felt she was rushing my cut. And when it came to washing she did finger detangling..... just because you do finger detangling doesn’t mean it’s always right. She ripped through my hair ( She out her fingers near my scalp and pulled to my roots with force!!!)and I told her your ripping my hair she said oh no it’s ok I’m finger detangling. And I said I’m ok with combing it you don’t have to charge less and she insisted oh no it ok it ok. She was rushing and trying to get it over with. (Btw I have 3b 3c hair) And I’m pretty sure she was rushing because she had a client eating with wet hair. She slapped my styling creams on my hair and I asked her if she could diffuse my hair and she said of your hairs to long...smh..Then she cut more
after she was dry. She basically did the whole cut over in my opinion. It costed my $85 and she said because she used a lot of product in my hair. The next day I did my hair and it looked as if she chipped chipped my hair. In the end I cut my hair to help the layers blend and I regret coming here.

Devastated

I went in for my first devacut today after years of getting horrible hair cuts that alway removed tons of length. I went in today specifically because I was intrigued by the curl by curl cutting method. The FIRST thing I said was I don\'t want to take away ANY length. She suggested some layers and I said not too many, I just want a little volume up front. She proceeded to cut my hair by running her fingers through my curls– thus stretching them out– and cutting layers of hair the way you would straight hair, not curl by curl. I got a really bad haircut 7 years ago and have been growing my hair out since and not using heat so that one day It\'d grow back to the length I once had and I was finally there. I went in so happy that after years of growing it out it was gonna have a better shape to it and my hair recovery journey would be over. And after almost TEN YEARS I\'m back at square ONE. Just wanted to share my story so the next person can be REALLY SPECIFIC about how they want it cut
(curl by curl!) because I\'m absolutely devastated.

First things first, I messaged the salon on Wednesday or Thursday requesting an appointment for today. I was initially told that they couldn’t accommodate me, and when I responded that I would try again after the first of the year, was asked if I could make it in at 10 o’clock this morning. Even when I said it was OK, that I knew it was kind of last minute especially for this time of the year, they said they could take care of me.

Fast forward to today. The salon is decorated beautifully. There is original artwork from local artists gracing the wall. Each of the stylists not only greeted me, that introduced themselves. It’s a small shop so everybody kind of chats a monks TD customers and staff during your service.

Lee took the time to assess my curls, explained what he was going to do after asking me what my goals are. He did an excellent job with the dry cut. He then did the no-poo transformation service, and though I am fairly well-versed in caring for my curls through the curly girl method, he provided tips all the way through my service for ways that I can better achieve the look that I want. I learned several new tricks. He put me under the dryer and then finished up with the diffuser while catching a couple of spots that needed a little extra attention. I’m excited to see it tomorrow when I’ve had a chance to plop it and style it with my normal routine adding the tips he provided. My hair looks and feels amazing. It’s an hour drive for me to get to the salon, and well worth it! Can’t say enough good about Lee and the rest of the staff.
