This is not a curly girl friendly salon. They USE SILICONES- I’ve been trying really hard for months not to use silicones, drying alcohols and harsh sulphates since I had a really bad experience and a stylist nearly burnt my hair on a different salon. So I decided to give hair stylists another chance and looked for a place where I could get a diva cut and the curl bar was the only place in Toronto approved by The Deva Curl website. First I got a treatment done and the stylist wanted to use a mask on my hair I asked to look at the ingredient list and to my surprise the second item on the list was a really bad silicone- Good thing I asked and I know how to read the ingredients. They used really high heat to dry my hair but I didn’t say anything I thought it was not a big deal, the worst thing was when she was going to start diffusing and sprayed silicones all over my hair- I was really upset. I’ve been trying for months! And the one place where you feel safe they just come and spray all the CONES in your hair. Sure, they didn’t charged me for the mask treatment I got done, but I still paid $108 dollars plus tip just to go home and wash my already dry and damaged hair with really harsh and drying ingredients to remove the silicone off my hair and had to re-style. So sad! Don’t come to this salon if you’re following the curly girl method.

Just walking into this blue heaven makes you feel pampered. Trudie is very charming and pleasant and makes you feel right at home. It is very relaxing and you can just sit back and let the girls work their magic. I have had my hair done by both Keisha and Betty. Keisha is so cute and funny. Betth is a true pro and Im willing to bet there arent too many heads she cant work. I look forward to my cuts at curlbar.

Curl Bar simply has Toronto\'s best collection of curly stylists. I was a long time patron of Aphrodite\'s Sanctuary simply because I had just always gone there but since Ive discoved Curlbar, Ive realized how much curly skills have improved and what I was getting was not the best at all! This will be my new long time home. My hair is much more hydrated and gently treated here and the curl pattern has improved. I have far less frizz and the different products work much better. Sorry Nadine!

I have had very dry dull hair for a few years. I struggled with environmental breakage and damage. I believe I have been to every curl salon in the GTA. But between the professional service that I have received and the ongoing support, this has been my all time favorite salon. The owner, Trudy often remembers every detail of her customers which is impressive. She screens her stylists well, so I never have to worry about whose hands I am in. They\'re all fantastic. My permanent home is here. Side note.. She serves every single customer hair type with a wide demographic so no worries. Check out some of the style transformations on her IG page.

I wish I did a before and after of my big chop. I was worried about going super short but loved how Betty did a cut that I wanted to suit my curl type even though the picture I showed her had a tighter curl pattern.
