Dianne Nola is the best hair stylist I have ever encountered. She is so good, that although I recently moved an hour away from her (east bay near Walnut Creek), I have still gone back because she is worth the drive and the price!
My entire life I struggled with my long-ish curly hair. I loved it in theory and knew it could look good but never managed to get the right cut or use the right product. I tried quite a few nice ‘curly-focused’ hair dressers (incl. those that did dry cuts) but after each cut, my hair was just meh. It was just fine and I always wanted it to be something more.
June 2014 I went in for my first cut with Dianne and it changed my life! Before the appointment she had me fill out an intake form writing in stuff about my hair and then had me choose photos from her pintrest and the internet showing hairstyles that I liked. She also asked for a front and side photo of my head. When I came in she told me what she was thinking of doing and talked me through what it would look like. I felt really comfortable knowing that she had put thought into what would work with my hair and my face.
She is really friendly and fun to talk to. Furthermore, she knows so much about curly hair, so it is fun to pick her brain! She has recently become a Deva Certified Curl Specialist
I have now gone back for 2 followup cuts (I try to get it cut every 4-6 months) and every time I am happy. For the first time in my life I am receiving compliments for my hair!
Although Dianne’s haircuts are expensive, she also offers ‘LITE’ haircuts for trims that take less time and are less pricey. Plus, her haircuts are worth the cost. After years of frustration, I now feel great about my hair AND I no longer spend money on product that I throw away later (she gives great advice on that front). I’ll definitely be back!

Finally, I found a stylist who can take care of my waves and let me relax in a salon without worry! She is passionate about the proper care and treatment of wavy and curly hair, has an artist's eye for shape, and a fun/sunny personality to boot. I love her work! Plus, bonus, every cut is sort of a mini-curly-girl lesson, Dianne has so many good tips to share. Highly recommend you try her for a cut or color, especially if you have curly or wavy hair.

Dianne is amazing! I had never been to a curly hair specialist before. She knew exactly what to do with my curly, thinning, sometimes out of control hair. Not easy. My hair has never looked this good! Dianne took the time to find out what I really wanted in a cut, but since she’s the expert, I left it up to her. Glad I did! She explained what she was going to do and what I needed to do to keep my hair looking as good as it did when I left the salon. It took some practice, especially with the clips she used. But when I came in to color my gray, she explained again, which helped! I can’t recommend Dianne highly enough. If she can make my hair look this good, she can help anyone!

I am a long time client of Dianne's but her increased expertise with curly hair is amazing! She has a lot of passion for cutting curly hair and she shares a wealth of knowledge and strategies for keeping my hair looking great in between cuts. I've always had wet cuts in the past but recently decided to try a dry cut - it was a really different experience. My curls really came out and Dianne also turned me on to products, which I've been enjoying since the dry cut.
