salon ivan

I am so relieved to find a salon that knows curls. I have been to both Ivan and Olivia. They have given me the confidence to wear my hair curly in a world that strongly encourages blow outs and silky straight hair. Thank you for helping me understan my natural curls and how to style them.

I was in Colorado last month, as I was desiring to have my hair done I searched for a Devacut Specialist. I found Salon Ivan and booked an appointment with Olivia. The Salon is fine and the people are very friendly including Olivia, she was very sweet. I’m natural for about 3 year and have never had a professional cut since then, so I was excited for the experience and for my new hair cut and pintura. I spent at the Salon about 5 hours, my hair turned out awful, Olivia destroyed my hair completely. She cut a lot on top, what gave me a poodle dog cut, the layers are not asymmetrical at all, has a huge indent between the poodle cut to the rest of my hair length, seems to have hair missing, the pintura ended up looking like a child painting, looking messy, brassy or blonde and disgusting, a completely hot mess. I wish I could upload a photo here. When at the salon, I was not so sure about the result, because the way she styled it was very different than the way I do, so I could really see the bad job just after few days when I washed it myself. I’m extremely regret to have trusted in an amateur on curly cuts ( She is Level 1 on Devacut, what is not great) thinking I was going to have a great experience like I see people having. My hair type is 3b according to the curls pattern table, it was healthy and now is very dry and difficult to style nicely because the poodle top cut. I’m so so sorry to have believed that all salons using “Devacut or Devacurl” name was going to be at least good. I will not be looking for a Devacut for a few years or perhaps never again, what is more likely to happen. People, always ask the professional Level, unfortunately I learned about it to late!!!!

Ivan is a wonderful curly stylist. I've been to see him several times and my hair has never looked better. A must for any curly girl in the Colorado Springs area.
